Frost Brown Todd Houston Welcomes Real Estate Member Andrea Steel
Practice focuses on affordable housing and hemp business law
Frost Brown Todd (FBT) continues to grow its Houston office with the addition of Member Andrea Steel. She will join the firm’s Real Estate practice group. Steel represents both for- and non-profit developers and assists public housing authorities with tax credits and financing.
In addition to her real estate work, Steel has extensive experience in the unique needs of the hemp and cannabis industry. She represents a range of cannabis companies, including cultivators, retailers, distributors, and testing labs. Steel advises on regulatory compliance, licensing, transactions, and policy. Steel is the co-chair of the Legislative Advisement Committee of the International Cannabis Bar Association and has been appointed vice chair of the American Bar Associations Cannabis Law and Policy Committee for the upcoming 2021-22 bar year.
“Bringing someone like Andrea who is regularly sought after to share her knowledge in both the real estate and hemp industries is a huge value to our clients,” said Houston Member-in-Charge Zenobia Bivens. “FBT is already known for both of its nationally recognized hemp and real estate practices. Adding her to our expanding Houston teams gives the region’s businesses direct access to that expertise.”
Steel is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and holds a degree in criminal justice and sociology from the University of Maryland. She is licensed to practice in Texas and Oklahoma.
