Litigator Tom Kruse Joins Arnold & Porter in Houston

May 23, 2022

Arnold & Porter announced today the further expansion of its Complex Litigation practice in Houston with the arrival of Thomas Kruse as a partner.

Christopher Odell, head of Arnold & Porter’s Houston office, said: “Tom brings with him tremendous experience and a strong track record of success in Texas and around the country. He will add further trial expertise to the firm’s bench of top litigators, particularly in the areas of energy litigation and arbitration.”

Mr. Kruse focuses his practice on commercial litigation in federal and state courts, both in trials and appeals, and in arbitrations in national and cross-border disputes. He represents clients in the energy (oil & gas and alternative sources), engineering, manufacturing, and medical, among other sectors. During his 30-year career, Mr. Kruse has been lead counsel in numerous jury and bench trials and in appeals and arbitrations of complex commercial matters. In addition, he has represented clients before the ICC Court of Arbitration as well as in AAA arbitration. He also handles both internal corporate investigations and government investigations.

In joining the firm, Mr. Kruse said, “Arnold & Porter is well-known for its excellent client service and litigation track record. I am very excited about joining the firm’s growing Houston office and look forward to helping expand Arnold & Porter’s footprint in Texas and its role as a player in the oil and gas industry.”

Mr. Kruse earned his JD from Vanderbilt University Law School and his BA from Emory University. He was a Bobby Jones Scholar at the University of St. Andrews. He clerked for the Honorable Ricardo H. Hinojosa in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Mr. Kruse’s arrival follows the addition of litigators Ryan Hartman and Katherine Treistman in Houston.
